Getting Started
Ways to save your money.
Many people prefer the security of money market and savings accounts. While they are secure, these types of accounts offer very little return on your money. This not only slows the process of "growing" your savings and reaching your goals, but also offers you an even smaller return than you might think. Consider this - according to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, the average rate of inflation for the years 1985 through 1995 was 3 1/2 %. With a little simple math, we then find that an account that is earning us 5% is, in fact, only earning us 1 1/2% when we take inflation into account!

Do we make more money on the funds we are saving?
This is where investing in the stock market comes into the picture. No one knows exactly where the market will head in the future and it will, no doubt, be subject to many fluctuations. However, despite it's past ups and downs, a glance at the chart below shows that the general direction of the United States Equities Market has been upward.
